Cyclones Season Ticket Holders got to take advantage of one of their exclusive benefits on Wednesday night, with FREE tickets to see the Mets play (and beat) the first-place Florida Marlins.
Over 800 fans also took part in a pre-game ceremony in which Cyclones Season Ticket Holders stood on the field at Shea for the National Anthem, and were recognized on the stadium's PA system.
In addition, six lucky fans got to go behind home plate, and catch up with former Cyclone (and current member of the Mets bullpen) Joe Smith.
The fans then sat in their free seats to watch one of the most exciting games of the season, as the Mets came from behind to beat the Marlins in 12 innings.
Smith, RHP Carlos Muniz, and OF Nick Evans are Cyclones alumni on the Mets roster, and OF Angel Pagan is on the DL. Howard Johnson, who coached and managed the Cyclones in 2001 and 2002, respectively, is the Mets hitting coach, giving the Amazin's a core of familiar faces for Brooklyn fans.
