The Brooklyn Cyclones will kick off the 2013 season on June 18th against the Staten Island Yankees, and as always it will be a night full of excitement.
MCU Park will open its gates at 5:15 PM for season ticket holders and 5:30 PM for the general public. Make sure to arrive early to the game as players and coaches will be on the front gate steps to sign autographs and take photos with the fans until around 5:45 PM.
The first 3,000 fans in attendance will be receiving Schedule Magnets courtesy of Municipal Credit Union.
Through the course of the season the Cyclones will be recognizing neighborhoods affected by Superstorm Sandy through Meaningful Monday, and on Opening Day the team will kickoff this year long program by wearing special jerseys to honor these neighborhoods. On the back of each players/coaches jersey an area that was affected will be printed on to the uniform. During pre-game introductions, when a players name is called they will be accompanied by a child who will be representing these neighborhoods as the Cyclones take the field for the first time.
After the game, these jerseys will be auctioned off through the all-new CyclonesGameDayAuctions.com. There will also be select jersey raffled off on the concourse during the game.
In addition, everyone in attendance will also have the opportunity to run the bases or just sit back and enjoy a post-game fireworks show in recognition of Opening Day.
