The Cyclones defeated Aberdeen on a “wet & wild” Tuesday night at MCU by the score of 9-3.

Southpaw Mitch Houck (1-0) pitched five scoreless innings, allowing only three baserunners and striking out three. In the bottom of the fifth the skies opened and rain put the game in jeopardy. The game was scoreless with runners at the corners when C Taylor Freeman dropped a suicide squeeze bunt down the third base line to plate a sliding R.J Harris from third with the go-ahead run.

Brooklyn then broke the game open, scoring seven total runs in the fifth inning on five hits, an error, and a wild pitch.

CF Darrell Ceciliani (pictured, by George Napolitano) went 2-for-5 on his 20th birthday, including a two-run single into right-centerfield during the crucial seven-run fifth inning.

French Canadian RHP Guillaume Leduc made his Cyclones debut with a scoreless ninth inning to seal the 9-3 win.

Brooklyn travels to Hudson Valley on Wednesday before returning home on Thursday to take on the Renegades at 7pm on the first Jersday Thursday of the season.  That night, the first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a “Home Replica" jersey, presented by MCU.

There's something for everyone at every Cyclones game -- free t-shirts, free jerseys, bobbleheads, fireworks, free food, and more!
