Major League Baseball's opening day features nine former Cyclones on big-league rosters, including two on the New York Mets.

Outfielder Angel Pagan and lefthander Joe Smith are on the Mets' opening day roster, while Brian Bannister (Royals), Lenny DiNardo (A's), Jesus Flores (Nationals), Justin Huber (Padres), Mike Jacobs (Marlins), Matt Lindstrom (Marlins), and Yusmeiro Petit (Diamondbacks) round out the other Brooklyn alum in the majors.  A tenth, Scott Kazmir, opens the season on the Disabled List for the Tampa Bay Rays (Pagan, Smith, Bannister, pictured l-r, by George Napolitano).

17 former Cyclones in all have gone on to spend time in the major leagues.  Danny Garcia was the first Cyclone to make it to the big leagues, doing so for the Mets in 2003.  Carlos Muniz was the last, doing so for the Mets in September of 2007.
