NEW YORK, NY – August 15, 2017 – New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey will continue his Major League Rehabilitation Assignment with the Brooklyn Cyclones and will take the mound at MCU Park on Wednesday, August 16th. First pitch is 7:00 PM with gates opening at 5:30 PM. EVERY seat in the ballpark is just $10 and fans will be able to run the bases post-game.
Harvey was placed on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to June 15th, with a stress injury to the scapula bone in his right shoulder. The righthander was 4-3 with a 5.25 ERA in 13 starts this season prior to his injury.
The 28-year-old righthander was selected in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft out of North Carolina and began his Minor League Career with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League. Harvey will be the 21st major leaguer to rehab with the Cyclones and the first since Jose Reyes played with the Cyclones in 2016. Harvey pitched for Brooklyn on Saturday, August 12th at Hudson Valley in his first rehab appearance.
