HARRY POTTER NIGHT AT MCU PARK THIS SUNDAY

On Sunday, July 31st the Cyclones will celebrate the release of “Harry Potter & The Cursed Child” with their first-ever Harry Potter Night at MCU Park. As part of the evening’s festivities, MCU Park will be transformed into Hogwarts and filled with magical fun. Here’s a complete look at what’s in store:

 

  • Pre-Game Quidditch: When gates open at 2:30 PM, fans will be entertained and amazed by a special pre-game Quidditch exhibition on the field between two all-star squads from The U.S Quidditch League including the Tri-State Lighting and New York Basilisks. And you thought Quidditch was just in the movies?! Don’t have a clue what Quidditch is? (You’re not alone.) The team members will then invite fans in attendance onto the field to participate in a Quidditch clinic, where you can learn the rules of the game...don’t worry, you’ll be able to keep your feet on the ground.
  • Wizard Walk Around: Before the game, anyone in a Harry Potter themed costume will be invited to participate in a pre-game parade around the field. Bring your robes and magic wands, dress like Dumbledore…whatever makes your car fly.
  • Get Housed:No no no, this doesn’t involve Butter Beer…although that does give us an idea…instead, fans will be sorted into one of the four Hogwarts Houses by the sorting hat. So be sure to stop by during the game and find out where you belong.
  • Wizarding Duels: Thanks to our friends at “The Group That Shall Not Be Named,” witches and wizards in training will be able to learn how to cast spells and duel other wizards on the concourse during the game.


Special in game activities as contestants compete to win the “Triwizard Cup.” Contests will include a broomstick race, fight off the mermaids in the Black Lake, and last but not least, the Tri-Wizard Maze Race as the third task. Additional in-game contests will include: Catch the Snitch, and of course, Find Your Hogwarts Letter.

You’ll also be able to pose for photos with characters from the series on the concourse. So clearly, it will be a night of fun filled entertainment. Plus after the game, all kids in attendance will be invited to run the bases (broomsticks are optional).
