
The Brooklyn Baseball Gallery is the first and only museum dedicated solely to the grand history of baseball in Brooklyn. The Gallery opened its doors for the first time in June of 2002 and houses a unique set of baseball memorabilia including the Brooklyn Dodgers Baseball Hall of Fame collection.
The history of baseball in Brooklyn is rich with both heartbreak and glory. Now, at the BBG, you can learn all the tales and legends that made the game and the borough famous.
LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS:
The BBG is located at KeySpan Park, 1904 Surf Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Parking is available.
By Bus: B36, B64, B74 to Stillwell Avenue and Surf Avenue
By Subway: Take the D, F, N, or Q train to Stillwell Avenue. Exit towards Surf Avenue. KeySpan Park is approximately two blocks to the right. The Brooklyn Baseball Gallery faces the KeySpan Park parking lot.
By Car: Take Belt Parkway to Cropsey Avenue (exit 6 going Eastbound, exit 6S going Westbound) Turn right at exit and head south on Cropsey Avenue. At Neptune Avenue, Cropsey Avenue turns into West 17th Street. Stay straight on West 17th Street two blocks until Surf Avenue. Make a right turn on Surf Avenue. The Brooklyn Baseball Gallery is located on the south side of Surf Avenue at KeySpan Park, closest to W19th Street.
HOURS AND ADMISSION:
During the season, The Gallery is open daily to the public, and before and after every Cyclones home game. Tickets are $1 per person and admission is free of charge for children under six.
During the off-season, October-May, The Gallery is open by appointment only. Please call (718) 449-8497 to schedule an appointment or group tour.
GALLERY PROGRAMS, EVENTS, AND EXHIBITS:
Diamond Dreams: Our educational tours program, Cyclones Diamond Dreams is a unique program designed for students to use baseball as a means for learning. This educational stadium tour provides students ages 7-13 with invaluable lessons in mathematics, history, geography, and life skills. (link to fact sheet, intro)
Cyclones Cinema: Cyclones Cinema is a program for kids in which we screen children's baseball films for free in the back room of The Gallery. Members of the Knothole Gang join neighborhood children to enjoy such films as Rookie of the Year, The Sandlot, Angels in the Outfield and others.
Extra Innings: Extra Innings is our monthly event: a book signing, contest or lecture. Past events have spotlighted Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges, Sandy Koufax, and the Negro Leagues. Please check our website for upcoming Extra Innings events.
PRIVATE PARTIES/CORPORATE FUNCTIONS:
The Brooklyn Baseball Gallery offers a unique place to celebrate any event. Private parties, corporate functions and charitable events will come to life in this one-of-a-kind setting. The Gallery is also an ideal option for company conferences, presentations and seminars and a rental allows you the use of our state-of-the-art audio and video equipment.
