GARY J. PERONE

Gary has been working in professional baseball since 2001. He was the Director of Community Relations starting in 2001. In 2004, he was selected to attend the Major League Baseball Scout School where he received his certification.

Perone is widely known for his relationships in and out of sports, along with his ability to bring unique concepts to life with his promotional and marketing acumen.

He was awarded the MiLB Presidential Citation in 2010 for his involvement and assistance with the MiLB Diversity Program. In 2013, he was given the Robert Julian Award for Community Service & Baseball Award by the New York-Penn League.

In addition to his duties with the Cyclones, he has spearheaded many industry and citywide initiative's such as the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame, the NYC Varsity League, and the Borough Cup. He also serves on the committee for Minor League Baseball's Diversity Program. Perone also serves as a liaison for all NYC Youth Baseball Initiatives for Major League Baseball and is one hte board of the New York Hot Stove League and the Greater Sandlot Athletic Association.

He attended St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, NY and now currently serves as an adjunct professor for Long Island University - Brooklyn, where he teaches a course on professional selling and communications in Sports. Gary and his wife, Ellena have four children: Nicolette, Dominique, Alexandrea and Gary John.

    Yes, I was named after my father, who was named after Gary Cooper because my grandfather loved Gary Cooper.

  • Do you like your handwriting?
    Yes, I have been told that I have beautiful penmanship.

    Sure, why not...

  • What is your favorite cereal?
    Oatmeal.

  • Do you untie your shoes before you take them off?
    YES! I have to keep my things nice, neat and organized.

    It is what it is.

    Harry Connick, Jr.

  • What is your favorite smell?
    Fresh Italian Bread.

  • Name a place you would like to visit and why?
    Italy. I think it would be a nice trip fr my wife and I to take since we have been planning a visit for a long time.

  • Besides MCU Park, what is the best ballpark you have visited?
    Citizens Bank Park (Sorry Mets fans. I Love the atmosphere and the energy.)

  • If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy?
    Summer vacation in Hawaii to celebrate my first Summer with no work in years.

  • f you were a baseball player, what would you want your walkup song to be?
    Encore by Jay-z and Linken Park.

  • What is the best concert that you have ever been to?
    12/12/12 Concert - except Kanye West.

  • What is your favorite restaurant?
    Not a fair question when you frequent all of Brooklyn's Best Eateries.
